About Femme Blaicasso
Born in 1976 to Rev. Charles Kelley and Carol Davis-Kelley, art was the spark that made Charis Kelley light up and gave her a peace like nothing else. Life was very active for Charis, with supportive parents and many activities to keep her attention only art kept her interested no matter what, and she evolved just like art did.
In the second grade Charis and her mom were invited to see a play at High School for Performing and Visual Arts. She was mesmerized by the posh school that allowed for all this creativity. So right then and there she vowed to attend this school above all others. She continued to hone her skills and keep here creative juices flowing until the opportunity came. Creating posters for various school events and taking advantage of whatever creative opportunities were available she continued to pursue her goal.
Initial she thought that drama would be here “IN” to this mysterious world of open freedom and creativity. She auditioned for a spot in the freshmen class of 1990 with 299 other hopeful individuals. She made it and a real dream was born. The first year and a half was a great experience in the Theatre department, but her tru love was always art. The second semester of her sophomore year she grabbed hold of an opportunity to change departments and it was the birth of Charis Kelley as a true artist.
High School was experimental, college was focused and life has been pure opportunity in expression. Taking on large scale mural projects and focused on creating a true legacy for life.
